The coffee in my office is so bad; the amount of sugar required to make it remotely bearable is directly proportional to the amount of sugar required to give you instant diabetes.

Have this NSX.

My office gets perfectly decent coffee from a local roaster.

But...a lot of people who make coffee here don't use the right number of bags of grounds for the given amount of coffee they're brewing. It's 4 bags to a gallon but too many people think that's too strong. Then we end up with a whole damn gallon of weak ass coffee.

Pretty sure the coffee we get is so cheap, they don't bother to filter out the dirt that gets mixed in with the grounds...

I feel your pain. We used to have big coffeepots and prepackaged starbucks. Stuff was powerful like jet fuel. I think I could have poured it in my car's gas tank and driven home on it. Lots and lots of sugar.

A few years ago we switched to the Flavia machines. Much more expensive per cup, but it's actually drinkable. (something like $.40/cup including the machine etc). Nifty little packets that pile up in a bin on the bottom of the machine that needs to be emptied about twice a day. I think it's better than K-cups but the flavors are more 'generic' in nature. Still 100,000,000 times better than the burnt jet fuel we used to get.

Yea pretty sure we spend about $0.02 per bag (and thats a bag per pot) and they keep saying they may have to cut down on that...

That's what caused me to bring my Keurig maker into work. After a while, the gave up and bought an office specific one and the k-cups.

I do have an old Keurig laying around at home. Never use the damn thing at home because I am usually drinking more than 1 K cups worth at a time.

I used to have crappy coffee. Used to buy it for the company myself from Costco. Now I work at a company that has the best coffee, all the time... There's always a sacrifice. I have to drive a lot further to work every day. Totally worth it.

I drink a few a day, but I get them from Costco or when they are on sale. On Black Friday I got a deal on k-cups that ended up being about $0.09 per cup and I bought a lot of them. Loaded up for a while now.

Unfortunately my commute cant get any longer. I live in the South west corner and work in the north east corner, everything is surrounded by desert so there no "next town over" for about 40 miles in any direction. I just need to invent a caffeine IV

That sucks. I suggest moving, or making a huge jar of cold brewed coffee every week...

I have a 40 oz mug I bring with me in the AM. but every now and then I have those days where I need an afternoon pick me up.

Hot coffee goes bad fast, but cold brew stays fresh for a week or two...

Bro I'm from New England, I could drink a whole pot of coffee and then go right to sleep. There is not a jug big enough for me to make that would last me a week.

my dilemma is that I have two barista mates working at competing cafe's near my work. Both for coffee brands that I really like. I have to alternate to keep the peace.

I have been known to go through a liter of coldbrew in a weekend... it's not the best idea...

1. Male or female? (if one is a man, he will get over your lack of visitation)

2. Hot or not (this only applies if one or both is female)

3. Discounts

(Sorry if I have made an improper assumption of you being a man)

I'll never have "too much" hot coffee or espresso, unless you add sugar to it. But cold brew can really jack me up. I imagine that's how I'd be if I ever tried drugs.

Now for an espresso break...

Too much sugar in my coffee just gives me headaches.

Yeah, me too. Too much sugar in general, actually. But especially mixed with caffeine. I don't drink flavored or caffeinated soda either...

they're both even. cost is the same, there's a slight difference in distance but not enough that it's a factor.

It'll solve itself soon enough when I move to the other office. also I wanna save some money for some new rims so I'll be bringing my own coffee in for a while. I can make a pretty good cup using a french press.

Same here. They could always just put some hot water in their cup. The worst is when people don't rinse out the old cold coffee from the thermos first thing in the morning - then I have to toss the whole batch.

Even with our (I think pretty good) coffee, one of my coworkers has her own small K-cup machine on her desk and brings in her own K-cups.

If it's that bad, that might get the point across.

Thankfully my current/past job (internship) was with McDonald's corporate and our coffee is well.. perfect every time. It's also free, which is a huge plus.
